POLLED HEREFORD.
BULL FROM CANADA. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The first Polled Hereford bull to be imported in the South Island arrived by the Waikawa to-day from Canada. It was imported by the Loan and Mercantile' Co. to the order of Mr. A. S. Holms, of Waimahaka, Southland. Mr. Holms hopes to nave an everincreasing number of muley calves and to increase the value of his herd without decreasing the quality. There are three other Polled Hereford bulls in New Zealand, all being at Gisborno.
