FAREWELLS FROM IZR.
TUTURE UNCERTAIN.
The staff and prominent performers at IZR microphone will''have their official radio "curtain" in an informal manner this evening, it being regarded as more suitable to say farewells to-night than when the station goes off the air as 'a private broadcasting unit 011 Sunday at 10 p.m. At seven o'clock the various "uncles" and "aunts" who have conducted children's hours will say goodbye, and during the evening concert session others connected with IZR will be heard for the last time from the station under its present name. There is still uncertainty aniong members of the staff regarding their future, for those qualified to hold positions have not yet heard definitely whether there is a chance of their being re-enjployed in the board's service. Hence / they are in doubt if their "good-byes" will be final, or merely "an revoirs."
In connection with the "Friendly Road" service, Mr. Rodgcrs, manager of IZM, has placed that station at the disposal of that service if it desires ).o avail itself of his. offer. A report that IZM has been taken over by the "Friendly Road" is denied.
