CAMOUFLAGED.
STOLEN CYCLE ALTERED. LABOURER FOR SENTENCE. Charged with stealing a cycle valued at £7, the property of Arthur John Martin, at Westfield, 011 November 7, Leon Smith Coburn, aged 27, labourer, appeared in the Police Court this morning and pleaded guilty. Detective-Sergeant O'Sullivan said Coburn rode the cycle home, filed off its number and repainted it. Mr. Hall Skelton, who appeared for accused, said Coburn, after taking the cvclo home, "got tlio wind up," and, thinking ho might be" caught, camouflaged the machine. It was a foolish thing to do, but Coburn was now repentant. Remarking that once previously Coburn had been placed on probation", tlio magistrate remanded him until Thursday next for sentence.
