PAPAKURA. Miss C. M. McLay, the Dominion organiser, held a series of meetings during last week-end, when temperance addresses were gh'en in the Presbyterian Church, Papakura, on Sunday morning, Sunday school in the afternoon and in Methodist Church on Sunday evening. On Monday afternoon Miss McLay met a number of ladies from both churches and organised a branch of the W.C.T.U. The following .officers were elected: President, Mrs. Garlick; vice-presidents, Mesdames Yule and Tarker; secretary, Miss Cooper; treasurer, Mrs. Baiilf; "White Ribbon" agent, Mrs. Eldridge; little White Kibboners, Mrs. Abbis. ♦ ' HENDERSON. Miss McLay addressed the closing meeting of the Band of Hope, Mr. Shreeves presiding. A prize essay on "Temperance" was read by Esther Nolan.
