MAGNATE MISSING.

Spain's "Tobacco King" Escapes From Prison. SENSATION IN MADRID. (Received 11.30 a.m.) MADRID, November 3. Juan March, Spain's "tobacco king," and a very wealthy man, has been in gaol-for 18 months awaiting trial on a charge of obtaining the Moroccan tobacco monopoly by bribery during the Monarchist regime. March continued to conduct his huge business from the office of the prison. He had his own chef to cook his meals. The warders to-day discovered that March had escaped and two warders were arrested for allegedly permitting him to escape. A commission has so far failed to substantiate the charges. The news of the escape caused a sensation in Madrid, and the Prime Minister, Senor Barrios, immediately announced severe measures against those directly or indirectly responsible for the escape.
