BOXER'S ILL-LUCK.
After a brief career, of only two years, it is probable that the New South Wales heavyweight champion, Pat George, will never fight again. The heavy hitting of Ron Richards has caused George's decision.
Fighting* in the Fijian Islands, Pat George's jaw was fractured, and he was medically advised not to box again within a specified period, but before that time had expired, Pat acted recently as a sparring partner to Ron Richards, received a jolt which caused subsequent pain in his jaw, and an X-ray. has revealed a fracture again. His contest at Leichhardt Stadium, on November 1, with Pietro Shagnola, was therefore cancelled.
Pat declares that it seems fighting fortune is against him. He is discouraged and stated that he did not wish to enter the ring again. He is only 22 years of age and has resolved to find employment, if he can, in his former capacity of a chauffeur.
