CROQUET.

TAUPIRI CROQUET CLUB,

At the official opening of the Tauplrl croquet lawn on Wednesday afternoon the weather was showery, despite which there was a large and representative gathering, members of the Hamilton, Hamilton East, Frankton, W-aerenga, Te Kawhata, Ngaruawahia and Huntly Clubs being present. The lawn was officially opened by Mr. J. Seath, president of the Bowling Club, and the first hoop made by Mrs. F. Catley, the president of the Croquet Club. competitions were played, of which the winners were : —Progressive croquet, Mrs. Berne. Hamilton East, and Mrs. Totman, Hamilton; target croquet, Mrs. Hennessey, Ngaruawahia; clock croquet, Mrs. Hennessey.
