CRASH TO DEATH.

YOUNG MARRIED MAN.

STRAND ARCADE FATALITY.

A young married man, Mr. Eric Reginald Smith, of 54, Wheturangi Road, Green Lane, fell from the top floor of the Strand Arcade to the ground floor inside the building about 8.30 this morning. He was alive when the St. John Ambulance arrived, but died soon afterwards. Shortly before 8.30 the liftman saw a man on the top floor of the building, and then heard the crash as the body struck the floor, some 40ft below. A tenant, whose premises are on the top floor, had just entered the ground floor, on his way to work, when he saw the body land. For the past seven years Mr. Smith had been in the employ of Messrs. Prestige Millinery, Ltd., of Lome Strftet. He had been under the attention of Dr. K. F. Gordon, of Green Lane, for nervous trouble.
