A total of 10,400 bales was offered at the wool sales and 99 per cent clearance was effected. The market was very strong at firmer rates. New records for the season were established in greasy Merino, which sold to 23d per lb, and scoured to 31d. The Sydney wool sales were resumed yesterday. Under very keen competition from all sections the market showed an advance of 7i to 10 per cent on the closing rates at the previous Sydney series. Good free wools revealed the advance to the full extent. Comebacks and crossbreds were in keen request and splendid clearances were effected. Greasy Merino fleece sold to 25-kl, which is the top price for the season in Sydney. It was obtained for five bales from Barraba. The offerings totalled 11.6CG bales, of which 11,320 were sold. Also 2G19 bales were sold privately.
