Signs of Progress in Ten Years Of Republic. KEMAL PASHA LAUDED. . - ANGORA, October 29. Russia is presenting to Turkey five fighting aeroplanes in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, which is being celebrated- by a three days' holiday, commencing today. An official summary of the progress of Turkey shows that the £48,000,000 unfavourable trade balance of 1926 was converted into a £15,400,000 favourable balance in 1932. Turkey is connected with 32 other countries by air mail. Numerous international guests include M. Voroshiloff, Commissar of the Russian Army and Navy, who arrived escorted by Soviet cruisers. The British Government has sent a congratulatory message to Kemal Pasha.
