DEATH OF AMERICAN.

SHAKESPEAREAN ACTOR. (Received 1 p.m.) NEW YORK, October 29. The death has occurred of Edward H. Sothern, the famous American Shakespearean actor of a generation ago, of pneumonia. His wife, famous oil the stage as Julia Marlowe, who often played in her husband's productions, was at his {sedside. Both returned from England three weeks' ago, where the actor became ill.
