N.Z. AMATEUR TITLES. WILSON, JOHNSON AND DOUGLAS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The majority of the finals of the New Zealand amateur wrestling championships were decided last night. Wellington and Auckland divided the honours, each centre winning three titles. The remaining title went to Wanganui. New champions for the year 1933: — •Bantam-weight, L. Nolan (Wellington); feather-weight, C. Wilson (Auckland); light-weight, R. Bullock (Wanganui); welter-weight, S. Lack (Wellington); middle-weight, H. Johnson (Auckland); light-heavy-weight, R. Douglas (Auckland); heavy-weight, H. R. Godfrey (Wellington).
WALKER TOO GOOD FOR RUMBERG.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., this day. i In a wrestling bout last night Walker defeated Rumberg by two falls to one. Walker secured a submission fall in the fourth round. Rumberg equalised in the fifth round, dumping Walker five times in succession, then applying a body press. Walker ended the bout in the sixth, throwing Rumberg through the ropes and about the ring until he was groggy, then securing an easy fall. These two wrestlers will meet at the Town Hall Auckland, to-morrow evening for the last match of the season.
