GOOD START FOR WEEK.

VALUES WELL MAINTAINED

Late values held firm at the first call of the week, and Half a dozen sales were finalised before members dispersed. In the banking section New Zealands were firm, and after sales at £2 8/ holders stood out for 3d more. Dominion Investment and Banking shares were on offer, witu reserve raised to 19/6. Amongst miscellaneous scrip Sharlands came in , for attention, with buyers for the ordinary at £12/ and for the preferences at £12/0. Alexander . Mines were easier, with sellers, of the 13/6 shares at 17/6, and buyers stopping at 13/6. Kins Solomons were in demand at 3/3 and Waihis at £1 6/3. In fixed term securities offers of loeal body debentures were fairly free, and Wanganui Harbour Boards changed hands at £OS. Buyers for Auckland Gas 6's raised their offers to £104. Government stocks wore in keen demand, with values firm at late rates. Bank Shares Firm. There, was further business in Commercial Bank and Bank of Xew Zealands (hiring the morning, and values recorded at the noon call showed general firmness.
