WELLINGTON, Sunday.

His Excellency the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, "has sent the following message to Mrs. Holland at Westport: — "Lady Bledisloe and I are most deeply distressed to hear of the death of your distinguished husband, whose conspicuous career of public service to this Dominion has been cut short with such tragic suddenness. We send to you and your family our heartfelt sympathy in your sad bereavement and irreparable loss."
