WALKER BEATS BUMBERG,

SENSATIONAL FIRST FALL,

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. Exceptionally fast and exciting wrestling was witnessed in the Winter show Stadium this evening when George Walker defeated Hal Rumberg by two falls to The contest opened sensationally. When the bell sounded for the first round. Walker sprinted across the ring, charged down and pinned the astonished American. The fall was taken in five seconds, and the crowd roared with mingled delight and surprise. Rumberg relieved his chagrin by beating the mat with his clenched fist. The second round had tae spectators 011 their feet from beginning to end, Rumberg making strenuous efforts to avenge his reverse. He nearly gained a fall with a crucifix following a powerful body scissors, but Walker weathered the session, and the pair settled down to a solid trial of strength and skill. Rumberg gained a fall in the fifth round by springing off the ropes for a flying tackle, followed oy a press. The end came in the seventh round, when the American again' flew off the ropes for a ' flying body scissors. Walker ducked and Rumberg missed and fell heavily and rolled on his back.
