AFFAIRS OF REFEREES.
Opening the meeting of the Auckland Referees' Association last evening, the president, Mr. A. Ball, thanked the- members for their- loyal co-operation during a busy season. " The speaker said the executive wished to ■ place on record its highest appreciation of the services given as an officer, referee and referee coach, by Mr. L, Bull, ivho had added to his many years of invaluable assistance to the code. Mr. Y. Simpson, secretary, added a warm tribute to Mr. Bull, and the resolution was carried amid applause.. The work of Messrs. Simpscln, A. Ball arid the grading committee (Messrs. A. McCowatt, A. Saunders and <L. G. "Bihns) was also acknowledged, i.;
It was decided to form an independent crickct club to play friendly invitation matches at Carl aw Park, Messrs. W. Simpson. T. Carey and T. Evans were appointed an organising committtee.
A motion of condolence with Mr. J. B. Paterson.'' a member o£ the parjes committee of the City-:Couneil. in the loss of his wifc'ft was also "jfesed, all jirreinbers standing," -
