HEAVY RAINS.
Rising Rivers in Queensland
And N.S.W.

Rain fell over most of the State during the week-end, and so heavy in north-western parts that, lloode are feared in the inland river systems. Torrential falls were recorded in parts of central and eouthem Queensland, and many rivers are in high flood, .twenty inches of rain fell at Takilbcran during tho week-end, while other places reported falls of lo inches. Burnett River is 23ft above normal, and is now 10ft over the wharves at Bundaberg. Other rivers have Hooded towns and bridges. Charleville Aerodrome is under water, and the mail 'plane dropped its bags of mail, being unable to land. Flood waters have entered hundreds of homes in Charleville. In Sydney steady rain began again at 5 a.m. on Saturday, and continued all day, with no sign of abating. The city was drenched, the downpour completely spoiling week-end holiday fixtures, camping and sports gatherings.
