LOCAL BODIES.
ONE TREE HILL. 15iIS The One Tree Hill Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor, Mr. I. J. Goldstine, presiding. Building Permits. —During the past fort* night building permits of an estimated value of £518 were issued. Since tho beginning of the year 68 permits had been issued in the borough. for buildings of a total estimated at £10,552. Tenders. —Ten firms tendered for the supply and installation of a pump designed to deliver 27,000 gallons of vrnt ::■ per hour* The tender of Messrs. Jojin C.i aibers and Son, Ltd., at £035, was accepted. Donation. —One guinea was donated to the Labour Day sports fund on condition that the money is expended upon prizes for the children. Meeting Dates. —The nest meeting of the council wall be held on September 27, and the following meeting on October 11. HENDERSON TOWN BOARD. The ordinary meeting of the Henderson. Town Board was held on Tuesday night* The chairman, Mr. H. Norcross, presided, and others present were Messrs. Lee, Carey, Hansen, Bussey and Garelja. Works.—The acting-foreman reported that the work authorised to be done on Millbrook and Edmonton Roads had been completed, and recommended that the retaining wall at tlie bathing pool in the Falls Park be backed with suitable material. It was agreed to obtain scoria material for this purpose. Bus Terminus. —Mr. J. A. Lee, the board's representative at the conference of local bodies called to consider the question of bus services, reported that it had been agreed to protest in the terms against the Auckland City Council's proposal to alter the present, bus terminus. The report was unanimously adopted. Miscellaneous.. —The Auckland Rugby League was granted the use of the Domain for a picnic on a date to be fixed. The Auckland City Council's request that all moneys collected from ratepayers for the supply of water be credited to the council's account was deferred lor further consideration. The concreting of the approaches to the new Oratia Stream Bridge is now being proceeded with. One side is completed, and is to be closed for three weeks to allow it to consolidate. The other side will remain open for that period for the convenience of traffic.
