CLEVEPON. The tenth birthday of the Clevedon Anglican Ladies' Guild was celebrated by a soeiul afternoon. Songs were given hy Meedames Mellsop, C. W.. Stephens, aiid Waters; pianoforte duet by Mrs. Heaslip and Miss Wood. Competitions were won by Mrs. Gallagher and Miss Wood. The vicar, the Rev. H. Heaslip, thanked members for their efforts. DARGAVILLE. A social evening was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. R. Langton, when the Catholic women of the district combined in an effort to raise funds for parish purposes. Games and dancing were enjoyed. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss E. McDermott and Mr. C. MeDerniott, card prizes by Mr. and Mrs. Finnerty, and a competition by Miss M. McDermott. During the evening Mrs.. S. Blake presented Mrs. J. Mclnnes with a handeome bedroom clock on behalf of the Onetea Ladies' Hockey Club, in return for the unselfish manner in which both Mr. and Mre. Mclnnes have assisted the girls in the past. At the conclusion of the evening Mr. R. Langton warmly thanked all present for their assistance. Among those present were: Mesdames D. Nash, J. 7'he Omana Rifle Club held an oUIt time dance in the Onianq. Hall. The hall was decorated with nikau jwlms, arum lilies, and coloured streamers. Mr. and Mrs. J. Boyle were the winners of the Monte Carlo waltz. Among those present were: Mesdames S. Keene, F. Palmer, IT. Bradley, J. Boyle, J. Christiansen, E. Hooper, C. Palmer, B. Rogers, S. MacKay, S. A.' Ballantyne, E. MeLaughlin, Misses B. Clotworthy, .T. Spyvie, D. Clarke, C. Cox, D. Taylor, It. Christiansen, R. Pau, N. Hughes, M. Smith, R. Rountree, and N. Hansen. Miee M. Collins, of Whangarei, is the guest of Mrs. G. N. Hayes, Dargavillo. The Mayoress of Dargaville, Mrs. F. A. Jones, assisted by the members of the Dargaville Women's Institute and 'friends, held a social afternoon in the Municipal Hall in aid of the St. John Ambulance. Mrs. 0. Olsen and Mrs. P. S. Goulding contributed songs, while Mise T. Rowlands and Miss J- Phillips gave fancy dancing. The card tournament was won by Mr. J. Fannon and Miss E. Nola. Competition? were won by Mrs. C. D. Wykes, Mrs. S. L. Arvidson, Mr. Fred C. Bagnall. The ladies assisting the Mayoress were: Bring and buy stall, Mrs. F. Carr, Mrs. B. Berry; refreshments, Mesdames G. Kirton, C. Thompson, D. and A. Williams, J. Aldereon, G. Danks, Van Renin, C. Turner (Whangarei), E. Fitzhenry, 11. Gibson, C. H. Crump. Mrs. N. Watson, Auckland, has been visiting her mother, Mrs. F. . Cronin, Awakino Road. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Clements entertained a number of their friends in the Settlers' Hall in honour of their daughter Frances. At the Parish Hall, Dargaville, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Christie were the recipients of presentations from the parishioners of Holy Trinity Church and members of the Dargaville Musical Society. Mr. Edmonds made the presentation, on behalf of church members, of a handsome glass fruit stand. Mr. B. S. Angus, on behalf of the Musical Society, handed to Mrs. Christie a cut glass flower vase. A musical programme was rendered by Mrs. S. McCullough, Mrs. O. Dunsford, Mrs. F. S. Goulding, and Mies G. Toogood. Accompaniments and dance music were played by Mrs. A. W. Christie, Mrs. 0. Dunsford, and Mise Hilliam.

Mrs. F. A. Jones is paying a visit to Hamilton, the guest of Mrs. W. Jones.
