BOXING CONTROL.
N.Z.B.A. CONFERENCE. DISCUSS.ION ON FINANCE. NO PERCENTAGE FtTRSES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, this day. The annual meeting of the Ke.w Zealand Boxing Association opened this morning, Mr. C. T. Smith presiding in the unavoidable absence of the president, Mr. H. K. Dix. Delegates were accorded a civic reception by.the Mayor (Mr. McKenzie). The report and balance-sheet were adopted without discusi-dou. Mr. T. Seagar moved, on behalf of the Tim'aru association, that the rules be altered to allow championship bouts on a percentage basis. After discussion the remit was lost. Mr. .las. Garcia, for the Taranaki association, moved that a fee he charged for all permits to clubs holding tournaments, the proceeds to go to the insurance fund. Ultimately the motion was recast to bring it into line with a similar remit carried last conference, and was carried. The fee was fixed at 10/. Mr. K. A. Dawson, treasurer, during a discussion on finance, submitted a statement showing that the Australian visit is estimated to cost £350. This would leave a debit to be made up by a 2 per cent levy on house takings, or a straight-out levy on associations. A remit recommending the association to bring down estimates of receipts and expenditure for the ensuing year at each annual meetinc was carried on the ■motion of Mr. W. 0. Talbot, Wellington.
