FESTIVAL OF DRAMA.
A hearty invitation to Auckland theatrical societies and organisations to compete in the final dramatic festival of tl'.o year, to be held in Wellington, j commencing September 2.'!, was given by Miss A. Kane, chairman of the National Council of the British Drama League, on the occasion of a visit by her to the local festival during the week in the Town Hall Concert Chamber, where she was introduced by Dr. J. W. Craven, president of the Auckland area of the league. Miss Kane said that there were now eight areas, and drama. ] festivals had been lio'd this year all over the Dominion. Drama and prodneer schools wero flourishing, and the entire scheme of community drama was proving immensely popular.
