OPERATIONS AT WAIHI. WAIHI, Thursday. The following Information has been cabled to the London office of the Waihi Gold Mining Company, Limited:— No. 5 Level.—-North branch Martha lodo crosscut, at H>7rt west: At 14ft in, the north crosscut intersected a vein of quartz Ift wide, assaying 23/0 a ton. The course is 45 degrees and the dip one in four south. The total length of the crosscut north is 27ft. Tho south crosscut is out a total length of 27ft, with nothing material to report. The crosscut is now suspended. Martha lode: Driving west the first sSft assays 9/0 a ton. No. 11 Level.—Sinking winze on Edward lode, the nest 22ft assays 28/9 a ton. No. 12 Level. —Royal lode: Driving west the next lift assays 14/9 a ton ana the next 27ft 84/ a ton. The lode is about 2ft wide. Grand Junction No. 0 Level.—The southeast prospecting crosscut from (lie Royal lodo Is out 147 ft, with nothing material to report. GOLDEN DAWN CRUSHING. The following report has been received from the Golden Dawn Gold Mines, Ltd. : For the twelve working days, ended August 20, 302 tons were treated for £717, exclusive of premium and exchange. A pumping plant is being installed to unwater the shaft on No. 1 reef and enable No. 1 level to be opened up and reel's developed at that level.
