HENDERSON NEWS.
More than 100 members and friends of the Holy Cross Catholif; Church, Henderson, formed a-" hiking party " to the residence of Mr. F. McCormick, at Te Atatu, on Tuesday, where racing and other iorms of amusement were held The results of the races were as follows:— Married women, Mrs. Martatinovich; single women, Miss Salisbury; thread the needle, Mesdames Franich and R. Norcross; sack race, Miss Joyce Flanaganegg and spoon race, Miss P. Johnson; step the chain Miss P. Ryan; three-legged race, Jjois Webb and Iris McCrory; girls under 12, Betty Leo; senior girls, Gwen Barker; girls, 10 and under, Francos Lyons; boys, 12 and under. Jim Johnson; senior boys Desmond Hnllas; infant boys, Joe Franich• girls, Nola Ryan; open race, Zeta Flanagan; nail driving, Mrs. P. Johnson. A baby show was also held, Dr. R Robb acting as judge. Winners were: Infants under 12 months, Baby Pratt; one to two years, Shirley Pratt. The proceeds are to be used in aid of the church funds.
