COLLEGE RIFLES CLUB.

REVIVAL OF ACTIVITY. Interest in the College Rifles Club was received at a meeting held last night iu the rooms of the Legion of Frontiersmen. The club has been dormant for a number of years. Colonel T. H. Dawson, one of the original members, outlined the club's history since its foundation by Colonel C. T. Major in 1897. He mentioned the unite with which it had been associated, until at the present time it had been handed down to the 4th Battery. He hoped the older members of the club would cooperate to make the new venture successful. The trustees held the sum of £1400' on behalf of the club, which it was hoped would eventually have its own rooms. The old rules were revived, and it was decided to take steps to incorporate the club. After the meeting a smoke concert was held, at which items were given by members of the 4th Battery. Officers were elected as under:—Patron, Colonel C. T. Major; president, Colonel 1. H. Dawson; vice-presidents, Colonel Iv. G. Milligan, Colonel L. M. Shera, Lieutenant-Colonel W. P. Stilwell, Major E. Elliott, Captain A. H. Currey, Sir James Parr, Sir .James Gunson, Messrs A. A. Dignan, N. R. W. Thomas, H. Clay, C. R. G. Bassett, G. H. Batger, Rev. A. J. Greenwood, R. P. Ward; secretary and treasurer, Mr. N. H. Hockin; committee, non-serving, Messrs. G W Sanders, C. D. Cooke, P. J. Cox, P. G.' Lintott, E .S. Wynyard; serving, officers ?! t,le battery, Sorgeant-Major H. Koper, Quartermaster-Sergeant E W Hunt, Sergeants R. D. Sellars, A. W' Hogg, H. A. Bullock; honorary solicitor, Mr. b J. Cox; honorary auditor, Mr. I. G. Baskett.
