FARM COMPETITIONS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) MAUKU, Thursday. At a social gathering in the Mauku Victory Hall the prizes won in the field competitions held during the past season by the local branch of the Farmers' Union were presented. Two new cups were presented, one from Messrs. Sutton, of Reading, England, for the swede competition, and one provided by the branch for the pasture competition to replace the one won outright last year. The swede cup was presented by Mr. F. Perkins to Mr. A. W. Tyler, of Mauku. The winner of the pasture cup was Mr. A. Woolsey, of Patumahoe. Awards for the other competitions were—Mangels, Mr. H. Swinburn, Mauku; hay, Mr. G. F. Bowden, Mauku; ensilage, Mr. A. V. Hill, Mauku.
