COMMUNITY SINGING

| A RECORD COLLECTION. As a result of community singing at the Town Hall last evening, under the auspices of the Auckland Community Singing Committee, the Mayor's relief committee will benefit by over £100. No less than £111 10/7J was collected, and the expenses amounted to only £6. This year community singing in Auckland has resulted in £400 being collected for the fund. Those closely connected with the community singing movement state that the weekly gatherings are having the effect of sti inula ting people and creating a spirit of comradeship. The contributions made range from a ;penii3' upwards.
