SAAR LEAGUE.
Herr Hitler's Speech at Great Demonstration. "BACK TO GERMANY" MOVE. (Received 1 p.m.) COLOGNE, August 27. Herr Hitler and Herr von Papen flew from Tannenberg to attend a great demonstration by the Saar League at Ruedesheim. Speaking at the foot of the 1870 war monument, the Chancellor declared that "Back to Germany" represented the only way for a peopled Saar. Germany desired an understanding with France on all questions, hut would never renounce the Saar as the Saar would never abandon Germany. The Marxists who had betrayed Germany had been expelled. President Ilindenburg telegraphed asserting the inextinguishable connection of the German Saar district with Germany. Communists held counter demonstrations in the Saar at Brucken and Neunkircheu. Assisted by 1500 Storm Troopers, the police conducted a big raid and arrested 40 alleged Communists, of whom 15 were sent to concentration camps. The police at Dresden arrested 05 persons charged with activities in connection with the former Socialist workers' party.
