AUSTRAUAN AND N.Z. SOCIETY The fact that an Australian and New Zealand Society of International Law had been inaugurated in Sydney was announced by Professor A. H. Charteris, professor of international law at the University of . Sydney, who passed through Auckland by the Monowai today. Its sittings, he said, were begun on August 17. '"The society has received gratifying support both in Xew Zealand and Australia," he added, "where the judges and the leaders of the legal profession are among its members. I think that such a society should iind such support is rather interesting. It is evidence of a move towards independence." A Xcw Zealand committee was in process of formation, he added. :
