DAMAGE TO ROADS.

WESTFIELD-BOUKD CATTLE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) TUAKAU, Tuesday. A decision to solicit from local bodies, between Tuakau and To Kuiti, their views on the damage caused to roads by the driving of large herds of cattle to Westficld was made by the Tuakau Town Board last evening.

The chairman, Mr. W. J. Deeble, referred to the damage caused at Tuakau recently by one very largo herd. He stated the board did not desire to harass farmers and clrover&, but believed that local bodies should take some joint action to prevent further damage. Cattle would be in better condition if sent by rail.
