FAT STOCK SALE.

TO-DAY'S OPERATIONS. LESS DEMAND FOR HEAVY LOTS. At the fat stock sales to-day cattle were penned in usual numbers. The demand for heavy stock cased, but in the other classes it was consistent "with previous sales, and prices were maintained. Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report: At our weekly Westfield fat stock market,. held to-day, the demand for heavy-weight stock was easier, and lighterweight value.s were maintained, there being 213 offerings, as against 150 last week. Extra choice ox sold to 18/ per 1001b; choice and prime, 15/ to 10/6; secondary and plain, 12/0 to 14/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 12/6 to 15/; secondary, 12/6 to 14/. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £7 15/ to £8 17/0; heavy, £7 5/ to £7 0/; lighter, £5 35/ to £7; light, £4 6/ to £5 10/; small and unfinished, £2 12/0 to £4 10/; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £4 5/ to £4 7/0; heavy, £3 17/6 to £4 2/6; lighter. £3 5/ to £3 15/; killable, £1 12/6 to £3. Dalgety and Co.. Ltd., report:—To-day at our weekly Westfield fat stock market ox beef was offered at over average numbers, for which the demand was steady. Values generally ruled at late rates. Cow and heifer beef came forward in average number, and sold under steady competition on a par with late quotations.
