MARCH TO NELSON.
FORTY RELIEF WORKERS. MAX V RETURNING TO CAMP. (By Telegraph.—l'rcss Association.) NELSON, this day. Forty-four relief workers engaged in afforestation 011 Spooncr'a Range walked into Nelson yesterday as a protest against camp conditions. '.Pliey spent a night at Richmond, en route, where they wore accommodated in the public hall. in Nelsjm yesterday a deputation waited or. Mr. *11. Atmorc, member for Nelson. Also present were the Mayor, the local unemployment authorities, and representatives of the Forestry Department. TIIO march in was thoroughly orderly. The main objection is to the mess room. Mr. Atmore promised to make representations to the Government of the complaints put before hint. The men were accommodated by the Nelson Relief Committee at the Y.M.C.A. last night. Twenty-nine of tho men decided this morning to return to camp. A reply was received from the Minister of Employment to the effect, that anything reasonable would be done to meet tiio requests of the men.
