MILK EXPORTS.
SEGULATING BRITISH TRADE. (British Oflici.il Wireless.) (Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, May 29. The Minister of Agriculture, Major Elliot, said in the House of Commons, that the foreign countries mainly concerned in the export to Britain of cream, ■omlensed whole milk and condensed skimmed milk, had given their assurmce that they would agree as an emergency measure to limit the export to the United Kingdom during June, July md August to an amount not exceeding 10 per cent of the quantities shipped for the corresponding period of last year ■iiibject to a review each month. Foreign •ountries which exported comparatively iiuall quantities were asked to ensure that shipments remained at the previous level.
The overseas Dominions' representatives had promised they would use their best endeavours to co-operate, as far as they were concerned, in the export of ihese products. In view of these arrangements there would be no longer any question of British manufacturers reducing output.
