MT. WELLINGTON FIRE.

Damage by fire was done to one room of a six-roomed house in Barrack Road, Mount Wellington, about 8 o'clock last evening. The Mount Wellington brigade confined the outbreak to a spare bedroom, where it started, but the rest of the house was damaged by smoke and water. The occupier, Mr. W. Nichols, was away at the time, and a passer-by who noticed a trail of smoke from a window informed the brigade. The house, owned by Miss Hogan, is insured for £300 in the Guardian office, and the contents for £200 in the Yorkshire office.
