SIMULTANEOUS CHESS.
, EXHIBITION ON SATURDAY. The Auckland Chess Club's championship tourneys are scheduled to commence next Monday night. Owing to the largo increase in. membership several additional classes have been added to the classification list and there will be four distinct divisions in the competitions. In addition to the championship level there will be an intermediate championship, minor level and junior level. Slight amendments have been made to the rules, and record entries are anticipated. . In order to create added interest during the winter the club has inaugurated fortnightly "visitors' nights," and the next one will be held next Saturday. Messrs. Jfaddox, Addis and Burry have challenged all comers to take part in a simultaneous exhibition. The club makes no charge for admission and extends an invitation to every player of the game to be present and try his skill. The exhibition will take place in the unemployment levy room on the second floor of the General Post Office. As the club has only a limited number of chess sets members and visitors afe requested to bring sets if possible. Additional boards arc not required.
