THE TOWN OF PEACE.
The little Swedish town of Kungnciv, in the province of Bohuslaen, and not far from Gothenburg, is going to celebrate a peace treaty concluded in 1100 A.D. The town, then called Kongahellaj wae on the frontier between Sweden and Norway, and was chosen by the three Scandinavian kings, • Erik Ejegodj ot Denmark, Magnus Barefoot, of Norway, and Inge Stenkilesoa, of Sweden as'the place to sign the peace ended the devastating war that iiaa occurred between the countries It is the first peace on record between these Northern States,
