JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS. HARD COURT TOURNAMENT.
The second Dominion junior hard court tennis championships at Campbell Park were continued yesterday afternoon and to-day. Although bad weather prevented a ball from being served on Tuesday, excellent progress was _ made with the meeting, despite occasional adjournment® yesterday owing to showers. Bad luck, however, again dogged the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, which is running the tournament for the New Zealand Association, for there was hardly any play this morning. This will certainly necessitate some curtailment of the programme, and there is every chance of the combined doubles being abandoned, as many of the Southern competitors are due to leave for their homes on Friday night's express. The North and South Island game is also in jeopardy. Among those umpiring and assisting with the tea arrangements is Mrs. S. C. Hodges, who was New Zealand singles champion in 1019, four times Dominion doubles victor and mixed doubles champion with William Goss (Canterbury) in 1914. Latest results:-— BOYS' SINGLES.
