WILL LEADERS GO?
EMPIRE CONFERENCE. NO PLANS DECIDED UPON. WOULD NEED TO LEAVE SOON. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. No definite plans have been decided 011 regarding the representation of New Zealand at the Economic Conference ill London, and departure by the Rangitata on Thursday is in any case regarded as impossible. A statement was' circulated during the week-end that there was a possibility of both the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, and the Minister of Finance, the lit. Hon. J. G. Coates, making the trip, but to reach London ill time for the opening of the conference on June 12 they would have to leave Auckland by the Mariposa tomorrow. Two other liners will leave New Zealand in time for the delegates to reach London a day or two after the start of the conference—the Rangitata which leaves Wellington for London, via Panama, on Friday, and the Maunganui, which is announced to sail for San Francisco on Tuesday, May 16.
