RACE DAY RAID.

ALLEGED GAMING HOUSE,

THREE MEN ARRESTED. Shortly before 1 o'clock to-day Detective-Sergeant McHugli and Detective Miller raided premises in Hobson Street and executed a search warrant. Three men were arrested. They are: Thomas Curran, charged with keeping premises at 115, Hobson Street, as a common gaming house; and Joseph Dempster Cox and Harvey Alfred Magill, each charged with assisting in the management of a common gaming house.

All three men • later appeared before Mr. E. A. Craig, J.P., at the Police Station, ■\Vlien they were remanded to appear in the Police Court on Monday morning. Bail was allowed each in the sum of £100.
