Steel Helmets Join Nazis and
Nationalists Likely,

BERLIN, April 28,
Herr Franz Seldte, leader of the Steel Helmets, announcing the decision to join the Nazis, said that he regarded Herr Hitler as not only the leader of the Nationalist revolution, but the leader of Germany's future. "The Steel Helmets must give him their hearts and their confidence. There are no longer difficulties, but only one great unity."
A possibility of an agreement between tlio Nazis and Nationalists is indicated in an arrangement whereby Dr. Hugonbcrg will retain his position as Minister of Commerce in the Prussian Government, but will not be a member of the Cabinet.
The fusion of the Nazis and Steel Helmets virtually completes Hitler's grip on Germany.
The Chancellor has appointed Herr Rudolf Hess, a Nazi member of the Reichstag, his deputy in the leadership of the party organisation.
Germany has constituted an Ogpu (secret police) similar to the Russian organisation, separating the Prussian political police from the regular force. It will bo concentrated in a. secret department entrusted to combating Bolshevism and subversive movements, and will bo manned by picked officers dominating the ordinary police and supervising the Press.
Professor Jacobsen, Jewish professor of Indo-Germanic languages at Marburg University, committed suicide under a train following his compulsory retirement.
One thousand policemen and Brown Shirts raided the western Berlin area and searched hundreds of houses and all pedestrians. It is reported that they discovered many weapons and compromising documents.
