SYDNEY, April 27. At the closing wool sales in Sydney today 7591 bales were offered and 6837 were sold. Also 1831 bales were sold privately. There was very keen general competition and the market was exceedingly firm for all descriptions, and a hardening tendency was again evidenced. Greasy Merino sold to 144AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE. Following are to-day's quotations on the London metal market, compared with those of April 25: —
I * American, 6.50 cents a lb, compared with 6.43 cents on April 25. TIN QUOTAS FIXED. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 26. The International Tin Committee met at the Hague yesterday and examined the monthly statistics as to exports. The signatory Governments agreed to the following quotas for export and production, to take effect as from Ju'.y 1: — Bolivia, 1224 long tons; Dutch East Indies, 1068 long tons; Nigeria, 286 long tons; Malaya, 1927 long tons. The next meeting will be held in Paris on May 23. LONDON TALLOW MARKET. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office, under date of 26th inst.:—Tallow: There is a good demand.
