ACCLIMATISATION.
SOCIETY IN AUCKLAND.
ANNUAL MEETING HELD.
The annual meeting of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society was held last evening, the president, Mr. P. E. McKenzie, presiding over a small attendance. The annual report (previously published) was adopted.
Officers Elected.—For four vacancies on the council the following were elected: — Messrs. J. J. Kelly, H. C. Savage, T. S. Withers, M. E. Fitzgerald. Supernumerary members reappointed were:— Messrs. G. Archey, R. A. Falla and T. L. Lancaster. Messrs. Thomson and Rodger were reappointed auditors. Mr. R. White was elected a life member.
Mallard Duck. — A recommendation, moved by Mr. C. A. Whitney, that 500 pair of English mallard duck be imported, was lost.
Additional Rangers.—A recommendation by Mr. S. Austin Carr, that £50 should be spent on the appointment of extra rangers for the first fortnight of the shooting season, was approved.
