Mr. J. Fletcher arrived in' Auckland by the Limited this morning. Lieutenant-Colonel E. G. Ponsonby has arrived from Wellington, and is "at the Station Hotel. Sir Cecil Leys returned to Auckland after a visit to the South 'by the Limited this morning. Inspector S. Rawle. of the police staff, New Plymouth, is in Auckland at the Station Hotel. ( Mr. P. Hally, Conciliation Commisioner, and Mr. J. B. McEwan left for the South by the Limited last night. Lord and Lady Latymer and the Hon. Mercy Money-Coutts, who have been touring the Dominion, have arrived in Auckland, and are at Hotel Cargen. Professor If. G. Denham, of Canterbury College, has been appointed a fellow of Christ's College in place of the Rev. Canon P. J. Cocks, now residing in Auckland. ~. ~ ~.Z Mr. W. Russell-Wood, of Auckland, has resigned his position as lecturer in elocution and producer for Southwell School, Hamilton, after an association of 11 years with the school. Mr. A. C. Rowson, a leading English butter importer, who has been in New Zealand for the- past two months, left by the Mariposa on Monday for Sydney, accompanied by Mrs. Rowson. Sir James Gunson, Messrs. J. A. C. Allum, G. W. Hutchison, Mayor of Auckland, and W. J. Holdsworth, chairman of the .Auckland Electric Power Board, left for the South by the express last night. Mr. F. J. H. Ellisdon, president of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Clerks "of Works' Association, returned yesterday from Wellington after attending the annual conference. Mr. Ellisdon has been elected Dominion president.
