It is announced that a number of applications have been put forward, by section , in New Lynn to have their properties ra as farm lands. The majority of these ar > presumably, from those section merchants w over-reached themselves during the boom y being too greedy in the priccs they asked their half and quarter-acres. As I once lij within the borough boundaries, and know district well, I trust those now in authon y there will not be taken in by this <* attack of farm-mindedness. The test farm rating is: Does the holder ma r major part of his income from the land! venture to doubt if there are ten hol ra ... that borough who use their land as tne livelihood. We want no "technical" , ar irl in this country now, and it behoves those authority to see that the madness that helps to bring New Zealand to the verge of ban ruptcy is firmly stamped out.
