" DRIVE " FOR CLOTHES.
Permission to hold a clothes drive in One Tree Hill on the last Saturday in April was asked by a deputation of relief workers, who waited ou the local borough council last evening. It was stated by the deputation that a house-to-house canvass would be made, that all applications for relief would be made in writing, and that the distribution of the proceeds would be carried out under the direction of the relief workers' committee and a church minister of the district. No charge would be made to recipients of the relief, and applications would be accepted from any relief worker of the borough, whether he was a member of the association or not. In reply to a question by the Mayor, Mr. I. J. Goldstine, the deputation said that there would be no objection to a sub-committee of the council supervising the drive and the distribution of the proceeds. Messrs. M. J. Hooper, A. J. Pearce and the town clerk were appointed the council's sub-committee to supervise the drive.
