BEST SINCE 1907.

TAURANGA FINANCES.

ACCOUNTS SHOWN IN CREDIT.

KATE COLLECTION 97 P.C.

(By Telegraph.—O-svn Correspondent.)

TAUEANGA, this day.

The town clerk and treasurer presented a statement of balances in several accounts to a meeting of the Borough Council last night, and these showed credit balances in all accounts, the position being probably unique in the Dominion at the present time, and one that has not obtained in Tauranga since 1907. The percentage of rates collected on March 31 is 97.105, leaving £250 outstanding against 29 ratepayers. In moving the adoption of the report, the Mayor, Mr. B. C. Bobbins, stated that this was probably one of the beat reports that would be presented by any borough in the Dominion. ,It reflected great credit on tha administration of the borough. Mr. Law seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously.
