THE NIMBLE SHILLING.
ATTRACTIVE TO INVESTORS. A recommendation to alter the nominal value of shares to 1/ from 5/ was made at the annual meeting of the shareholders of the Snowy River Sluicing. Company. Limited. The chairman of directors (Mr. H. P. Bridge), said, when replying to a shareholder, that the matter had received the consideration of the directors, who were of the opinion that it" would be in the interests of the company to fix the nominal value of the shares at 1/, instead of 5/. He thought that the change in the share-value would react in favour of the company in exchange dealings, and help in the sale of unallotted shares. The present practice seemed to be to fix shares at a low nominal value, as appealing more to investors, he said.
