METHODIST MINISTERS.
FAREWELL GATHERINGS. Four Methodist ministers have been farewelled in Auckland during the week. Appreciation of the work of the Rev. G. Frost, superintendent of the Auckland West Methodist circuit, and minister of St. John's Church and Bayfield Church, was expressed by the Rev. E. C. Leadley at a social held in St. John's school hall, Ponsonby Road, last evening. Other speakers mentioned the splendid service of Mr. Frost, and appreciation was expressed of the co-operation of Mrs. Frost. Mr. Frost was presented with a fireside chair. Mrs. Frost was made a similar presentation from the St. John's Guild, of which she was president. Many members of the Devonporfc Methodist Church attended a farewell held in the church hall last evening, when presentations were made to the Rev. J. H. and Mrs. Haslam. Mr. Haslam was presented with a wallet of notes on behalf of the congregation, and Mrs. Haslam was presented with a brass vase on behalf of €he Vauxhall Ladies' Guild.
The congregation of the Mount Eden Methodist Church tendered a farewell social to the Rev. S. J. Werren and Mrs. Werren on Tuesday evening. Mr. T. H. Martyn presided. They were presented with a wallet containing a cheque. The Rev. E. D. Patchett, Mesdames J. Armitage apd C Clark and Messrs. P. Dellow, G. Spooner, J. Tyler and E. R. Warburton eulogised Mr. Werren's work, and a cheque was presented. Before their departure for Palmerston North, the Lev. H. L. Richards and Mrs. Richards, of Takapuna Methodist Church, were the guests of honour at a farewell' social on Tuesday evening. Mr. Richards was presented with a travelling rug.
