FURIOUS CONTROVERSY.
BIRTH CONTROL FUNCTION. LONDON, March 22. A furious controversy has been aroused by the action of the Maltkusians in organising a ball, to be held in the West End, in aid of the international birth . control movement. "Birth control is of the utmost importance, internationally, making for peace by preventing wars of aggression due to over-population," declared Professor Julian Huxley, replying to Father Woodlock's charge that the ball would "blazon England's shame throughout the world."
"We have our own morality," said Professor Huxley, "and it is a higher and a better morality than Father Woodlock's. We believe that we are doing something that is far more moral than condemning the hiinii'ii race to a sort of impotent scramble for existence amid an over-populated world. "Birth control is a new instrument in the hands of humanity to relieve individual suffering and control a nations birth rate, population, and eugenic pro it a bad thing."
