Mr. K. S. Williams, M.P. for the Bay of Plenty, will attend the flret meeting of the Waitangi Trust Board at Waitangi on Thursday. Mr. G. Goldingham, of Palmerston North, returned by the Wanganella this morning after a brief combined business and pleasure visit to the Commonwealth. Mr. C. R. G. Rodriguez, of Melbourne, a director of the Vacuum Oil Pty. Coy., Limited, arrived in Auckland from the South yesterday. He is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Furness, of Melbourne, arrived by the- Wanganella this morning on a holiday visit. They are going down to Marl-borough, and will return by the* same vessel from Wellington on April 14; Mr. A. E. Flower, of Chris-tchurch, has been elected the graduates' representative on' the New Zealand University .Senate, according to a Press Association message from Wellington. Mr. Flower was formerly a member of the senate. Mr. A. D. Park, secretary of the Treasury, who became ill after his return from the Ottawa, Conference last year, has made an excellent recovery and has resumed his duties at the Treasury, states a Press Association message from Wellington. The Rev. M. A. Rugby Pratt, expresident of the Methodist Church of New Zealand, has been elected a fellow of the Royal Historical Society, London. Last year Mr. Pratt had published in London a volume under the title, "The Pioneering Dave of Southern Maoriland." This book has been well received in literary and historical circles both in New Zealand and in England. It has been highly e-poken of by Dr. Elder, F.R. Hist.S. (London), who holds the Chair of History ir< Otago University, and has been included in the eelect bibliography of New Zealand history, compiled by Dr. Eight, of Canterbury University College, for the volume dealing with New Zealand in the Cambridge History of the British Empire series.
