CRICKET AND THE CLASSES.
"Test Aftermath" asks what other game has such a wide popularity as erk'ket. The answer, obviously, is tennis and golf. Observe the number of countries which enter the Davis Cup competition. As for the occupations of the English cricketers, it is unfortunately all too true that the majority are professionals. This fact supports my contention that most of the noise about cricket is made by or for the people who merely watch it, rather than by or for the few who play it. This is one of the bad results of professionalism in any game. INVENT ANOTHER.
